About us

We think you should know what things cost before you sign.

We're Stan and Gijs. We started Negoti8 with one idea: make the prices in a quote clearer, for the customer and for the company writing the quote. In about thirty seconds you know whether the price in your inbox is in line with the market, and how to reply to it if it is not.

How this started

We had both just bought a house, at roughly the same time, and as it goes: no house without a to-do list. Bathroom, kitchen, garden. Within a few months we both needed quotes.

On a long drive to Austria we worked out that we had exactly the same problem: no idea what any of it should cost. Neither of us is a builder, and neither of us has a technical background. What a plasterer charges per day, or what a normal square metre price for insulation is: no idea.

The quotes that came back were wildly apart. Not ten percent apart, but unrecognisably different, for what we were fairly sure was the same job. That feels like information, and it is the opposite: all you learn is that you do not know which number is normal.

Somewhere on that drive the plan came up: build a database that compares quotes against each other, so we would at least know the average per line item. Asking ChatGPT or Gemini gave us nothing but vague answers with no hard numbers, so we went and looked ourselves: supplier price lists, trade rate guides, old invoices from friends, and the quotes landing in our own inboxes.

It worked well enough that we now do it for consumers and small businesses too. That is how negoti8.app started. It works both ways: you get to see where the prices in your quote sit, and a company that writes quotes can check whether it is in line with the market, under it or over it.

How we work

The analysis is free. Only the email costs money.

Every line item, every market benchmark and every flag showing what sits above the going rate costs nothing. You pay two euros once, per quote, only when you want the ready-to-send counter-offer. There is no subscription and nothing renews.

Your quote is deleted after we read it.

The file goes to Google's Gemini to extract the line items, and is then deleted. What we keep is an anonymised price observation: a category and an amount, with no name, email, user ID or raw text attached.

We never sell personal data.

The anonymised price statistics are published only once a group is large enough that no individual can be picked out of it. Personal data is not part of that, and you can opt out of the dataset entirely with one toggle.

We tell you when the AI is guessing.

When our research cannot find grounded sources for a line item, the analysis says so instead of inventing a confident number. And a counter-offer is never higher than the market average it cites.

The detail behind all four is written out in our Privacy Policy and Terms.

What Negoti8 is not

We are not a hunt for the lowest price. A cheaper quote is not automatically a better quote: companies that deliver real quality are simply more expensive than a price fighter chasing volume. That is why we never say 'this quote is too expensive', we say how many percent above or below the market average it sits. What that quality is worth to you is your call.

It is not legal or financial advice, and it is not a valuation. The benchmarks are estimates drawn from real market research, but your project, your region and your timing all move the real number. Treat the output as a well-informed second opinion, not a verdict.

We also cannot promise a discount. Some quotes come back fair, and the analysis will tell you so, which is worth knowing too. What we can promise is that you go into the conversation knowing roughly where the price sits.
